Sarasota, FL – Kerkering, Barberio & Co., PA, Certified Public Accountants, is working with clients, attorneys, investors, bankers and others who have been affected by the Bernard Madoff, Arthur Nadel and Stanford Financial Group investment fraud schemes. To assist clients and others who have been victimized by these schemes, Kerkering Barberio has formed its own Investment Fraud Task Force, consisting of KB tax specialists who have particular expertise in individual and partnership taxation and estate and trust tax matters.
The KB Investment Fraud Task Force will assist clients by identifying the amount of their damages, determining the timing for deducting their theft losses, filing protective claims to maintain open tax years and filing tax returns to claim the actual theft losses to maximize the recovery of tax dollars.
The KB Investment Fraud Task Force will also work closely with attorneys representing their clients in handling the numerous tax and litigation issues. These issues include potential SIPC filings, identifying involved parties for litigation claims and reviewing exposure for repayment of funds requested by receivers for prior distributions.
